Vintage "MESSAGE MIKE" modified into a working microphone (RCA 77 Style) READ!!

For those loving all things RCA, this once vintage novelty item has been
modified into a working microphone
. Paying tribute to the most famous microphone in the world, the RCA 77, this
Japanese-built
"Message Mike" unit by WACO was a simple tape loop that would playback a short message when you spoke into it. That feature no longer functioned, so we disconnected that component and
installed a dynamic mic capsule inside
, and also added some visual design cues reminiscent of the RCA 77. A 4 foot cable has been added with standard 1/4" male phono plug. It picks up from the front, and the top, and is
compatible for use with any modern amplifier
. Physically this piece is in excellent shape (plastic casing) and stands 9.5" tall including the mic and base. This piece looks
great as an accent collectable
for your desk, or you could actually plug it in and use it...maybe play pretend you're "on the air"!
