    Description

    Offering a late 1930's
Amperite RBH bi-directional ribbon microphone, working with CBS desk stand
. Amperite actually began in the 1920's and by the end of the 30's they were producing their own line of microphones. This RHB model was one of the company's "
    professional models
" from the later 30's, advertised as '
Studio microphones at P.A. prices, the ultimate in microphone quality
'. With Amperite as main microphone company of New York, their product became popular in many of the city's clubs, ballrooms, and studios during the Big Band era. They were favored by many vocalists in New York in the late 30's and 40's like Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra. After a successful 2 decade run, Amperite stopped making mics in the 50's.
    This one is in
    very nice condition, completely restored
with new paint, new screen cloth, and thoroughly cleaned. It's original ribbon motor was in great shape, but we upgraded to transformer to imporve output and quality.
The original yoke supports the mic
    and
    includes the short Amphenol cable
with male XLR plug on the opposing end. This model did not have an
on-off switch, but has a solid brass plate with the mic's serial number stamped into it.
The desk stand shown IS INCLUDED, with a reproduced raised CBS call letter badge.
    Overall height is 12" with the base measuring 6" x 4". **
