You are looking at
a somewhat rare 1950's era American D-22 dynamic omni-directional microphone made in Pasadena, California that comes with a somewhat period desk stand.
The American brand was known for making high quality and often more expensive microphones. It should be noted right away that while this mic / stand combo looks amazing...the mic has been tested and has a non-working signal so it should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only.
This unique and elegantly designed microphone was produced as a general purpose microphone and is a High impedance mic which was far more common back in the 1950's. The D-22 had a run of about 15 years before being discontinued. It has a beautiful two tone finish that was a unique signature of the American Microphone Company.
As you can see the gold finish has a nice luster with typical lite wear. This particular mic is in far better condition than most I have come across despite the imperfections. The black lower portion is free of any dents, heavy scratches or fractures. Just a few lite scratch marks. The badge looks pretty good as well. There is no missing hardware and the mic is solid inside and out. The joint mechanism has lots of tension too getting just the right angle needed. There is very lite wear on the front silk screen as seen in pic # 3. She'll make a very unique and beautiful display piece anywhere in the home, office or studio if you choose not to use it.
The mic comes with a nice all metal microphone desk stand. This stand has a painted base with a short 4 inch chrome riser and makes a stable platform for the D-22.
The dimensions of this stand are appx 4 1/2 inches tall X 4 inches wide. With the mic on top it's appx 13 inches tall when fully raised upright.
The stand has nice black semi gloss colored paint and comes with 3 cork pads. The 4 inch chrome stem / riser has very lite wear to it and will accept any mic clip or screw on microphone.
This will do just about any mic collection justice and has a very unique look all it's own.
