    Description

    Offering a working
1930's RCA Manufacturing Co. model 50-A (MI-4030-C) pressure operated microphone with a 4 sided NBC yoke/flag assembly
, harkening back to the days of early network broadcast radio. (The final vintage archival photo shows a performer during live broadcasting with this style mic and NBC flag.) These 50-A's are actually a type of ribbon mic, with a single 0.101 inch aluminum conductor suspended between the poles of a huge iron magnet.
    The
condition of the mic is overall very good,
    and a
    mazingly,
even though this mic may have been sitting dormant for many decades,
    still produces a clean signal
    when voice-tested
, loads of output with audio quality commensurate with dynamic microphones of that early era.
    (
    NO PHANTOM POWER NEEDED
.) Works with any modern amplifier.
The housings on these 50-A models are solid brass, but they
oxidized over the decades giving them
    that rich darkened patina.
    The mic
includes the (often missing) old UA-3-12 Cannon plug
    on the back,
    wired to
    a
new 2 foot cable with a
    standard male XLR
    .
(We can install a 1/4" male phono plug if you prefer at no charge.)
The mic is mounted within a
reproduced 4 sided NBC style yoke and flag assembly
, (3D printed) and threaded to the
    included heavy Atlas desk stand.
Overall, this mic w/stand weighs in at 6 pounds with total height of 7". This RCA 50-A microphone is a rare tested and WORKING piece of vintage television/radio broadcast / live stage history, worthy of a museum, or that very special collector.
