Not many of these around. Super rare, and this one works. I hesitate to put a rating on it since one person's "great" is another's "eh." So, zoom in and decide for yourself. I took high resolution pictures, so you should have no trouble seeing what you need to see to apply a grade to it.Sound is loud and clear, best I can tell. I tried it with a frankly bad cord, the only one I have with the proper connector. I heard a good bit of noise along with the signal, but I heard the same noise when I disconnected the mic and just listened to the cord. So my guess is the mic will be much better with a good cord. I'll see if I can figure out what's wrong with the cord and test it again. I'll amend this listing if I can get it working better. In any case, the cord is not included with the sale; I don't have another of these connectors.
The head needs tightening: it doesn't stay in any position other than fully vertical or leaning back to the max, but there isn't an obvious way to crank down on it without maybe opening the mic. I have the hands of a gorilla on a bad day, so I'll leave that operation to the buyer to tackle.
Apparently, Packard Bell made a mic identical to this, calling it the Phonocord, but without the extension that includes the grip switch. Could be they made the mic, Universal added the switch section, and re-branded it.
