    Please read below before buying!!!
Tascam DA-302 with LA-D302 XLR Expansion kit.
I got this unit to work by replacing the loading belts, however it will only play certain tapes from other decks. Plays my Panasonic SV3800 test tape fine on both A and B decks. Plays back fine when it does and records fine also.
Please use DAT tapes designed for these unit as they may work better. For some reason it will only play it's own self recorded tapes when it wants too. Still seems to be some alignment issues even with a perfect waveform showing on the scope. (see picture). Tapes will play perfect for hours, then when you take the tape out and come back the next day and play it again, it will show a high "bit" error rate with no audio. Also found some tracking issues also. You have to be-careful.The tape transports are delicate on the these units, you can't fool with them too much.
The deck has been "scope" aligned as best as I could but will never be perfect because the SONY MASTER DAT alignment tapes are no longer available as a reference point..
Both decks A and B  are working, Dubbing works all inputs and outputs work. Search functions are working. There is a "scratchy" headphone pot that will need to be replaced but it is working. Replaced head pre-amp "caps" on both servo boards, replaced the loading belts, Cleaned and aligned heads and did a functional check.
Drum Time on Deck A is Incorrect and unknown/faulty, shows "0000" sometimes then will switch to "8888" and does not advance to the next hour like it should.. Drum time on Deck B is 0144 and is working fine.
If you want something to "tinker" with and don't mind or have the time to fix things then this is the unit for you.It will make good recordings that may play on other machines. I've done all I can. I ran it in record mode for 2hrs and both decks recorded fine. All I have are the DAT DATA tapes for testing they will work but some decks don't like them. It doesn't seem to like them too much as it errors out on playback intermittently.
Has a few scratches on the top front panel and a small dent on the right side panel.
