    Description

    Offering
a unique working "work of art"...
    a 1920's Crosley-styled speaker remodded into a
    working
    spring suspension
    microphone
    !
This "creation" is based on some of the first (and also very large) Western Electric and Kellogg desktop carbon mics made in the early 1900's.
We only ever did 2 of these remods, this is one of them. (The last 2 photos show an excellent example of this type of unit being used back in the 1930's.)
The beautifully designed art-deco casing was originally a CROSLEY DYNACONE speaker, but has been stripped down, cleaned and repainted with a Black Crinkle/clearcoat finish. The brass frontal Crosley badge has been polished, and the casing sits atop a gorgeous
brass pedestal. Inside the casing, an 8 spring assembly is anchored to the casing with an oversized center element housing a
    modern wide-range dynamic capsule
    . The end result, a
    beautifully unique and
    working tabletop microphone
wired to a short cable with male XLR plug.
(We can swap the XLR for a 1/4" male phono plug if you prefer.)
This unit is compatible with any amp or mixer, no phantom power needed. What a statement piece for a video conference, zoom meeting, photo shoot, or working fantasy collectable.
The all-metal casing measures 12" in diameter with a total height of 13".
