Wild or domestic cat prints have a round appearance that is furthered by the arc of space
between the heel pad and the toes. Unlike dogs
a cat's heel pad usually shows
as double lobe between the heel and toe prints. Feline print heel pads are big
compared to their toes and cat front prints are asymmetrical with the toes pointing
to the inside side (the inner toes more forward
than the outside toes). Sometimes
this looks as though the heel pad and the toes are pointing in opposite directions.
Because cats can retract their claws they usually do not show in prints.
Lions direct print meaning the hind print, prints over the front print.The hind foot is smaller more
symmetrical and the toes are more even and closer together. The heel pads are still larger in proportion
to the toes than dogs but not as extreme as North American or domestic felines
