    Description

Custom +4 / -10 Test Panel w/ I/O Connectors, Cables, and Transformers For Audio Gear Service.
We built 3 of these custom panels when we expanded our test benches a few years ago and no longer need this one. Here's how it's designed and wired, going through the 5 modular panel sections, from left to right. All cables are about 6 feet long. The rack frame and panels and made from standard Middle Atlantic components. It's wired professionally and neatly, with Mogami cable and good quality connectors.
OSC: The 2 male XLR's and 2 sets of 3 banana plugs are wired to a mic cable with 3 banana plugs on the end. This is an balanced oscillator feed that is meant to be patched to equipment under test with mic cables or banana cables.
CD and MON: The two male XLR CD jacks are wired to female XLR's, for patching music or other program into the equipment under test. The two XFMR DIFF switches to the right alternately route these signals through a pair of Frost output transformers, for testing gear with unbalanced inputs, or for other situations where transformer-isolated inputs are helpful for testing. The two female MON jacks are meant for patching the output of the unit under test to a monitor system for measurement and/or listening.
BNC Panel: This panel has 4 BNC-BNC connectors with no cabling. It can be used for patching digital audio, video, etc. from the unit under test to test gear.
SWITCH PANEL: The upper switches add Frost output transformers to the CD XLR's, as mentioned above. The lower MON RCA / PLUS 4 BAL switch allows the monitor system to switch between the 2 MON XLR's and the 2 RCA MON connectors on the last panel. These RCA have a looping cable that can be connected to a -10 to +4 step up box, so that when going back and forth between +4 XLR gear and -10 RCA gear, the monitoring level is constant.
RCA PANEL: This panel has 4 gold female RCA's, to allow patching to and from consumer type audio gear. The RCA's are unsulated from the panel to prevent ground loops.
We have no schematics for this panel but it's fairly simple, and the signal flow can be understood just by looking at the cables and connectors.
Since the panel is made from standard Middle Atlantic parts, it would be relatively simple to change its function and layout.
Hopefully someone will be able to make good use of this test panel. Good condition but sold as is, as found, for parts or repair. No returns.
