    Description

    This has Ampex part number 4020272-01 stamped on it and 4020272-010 on the serial number tag, which the Ampex parts list shows as the Ampex AG-440 full track head assembly, but it doesn't have any heads, it's just the black/stainless steel box and spring loaded hinged black side panel. I don't know if it can use other head types or not.
    Note a lower corner is chipped off and the hinge pin could slip out, but bolted down, probably could not. The spring is there and holding it in place well.
    This was owned by Dale Manquen.
    Working condition unknown, sold as-is for parts/repair, no returns/refunds.
    Dale Manquen was an electronic engineer/designer at 3M Mincom tape recorder division in Camarillo, California, and later his company was MANCO. Synhouse has dozens of items from the Dale Manquen estate, mostly NOS 3M PCBs/PCBAs from the 1960s and 1970s, but also three card cages, test jigs, and other items, some of which the function was only known to him.
