Description

This is a vintage original 1968 dated United States Navy Lot of 11 B/W Photographs showing World War II Munitions Clean-up on Palau.  They are from the Battle of Peleliu, 1944, where 2,000 Americans and 10,000 Japanese were killed.  The battle was fought by the 1st Marine Division and the 81st Infantry Division.  Some of the photographs are marked: Heavy Photographic Squadron 61 / Fleet Air Photographic Laboratory / U.S. Naval Air Station / Agana, Guam.  Eight of the photographs measure approx. 8" by 10", one photograph measures approx. 5" by 7", and two photographs measure approx. 4" by 5".  The photographs are in good used condition with some wear from use, aging, and storage.  See photos.
